A "Used" Set, 3 Thru 9 Northwestern "Thunderbird" Progressive Flow Irons! At one time Northwestern was probably the most prolific Club Maker ever. They also sold a lot of Clubs because of their Fine Quality and Affordable Prieces. But, Nat Rosasco, the Company Owner, used the phrase "We Make Clubs For The Masses, Not The Classes." I know there were Touring Pros who used Northwestern Clubs, but the only one I remember is Juan "Chi Chi" Rodriguez. I know for certain because I followed him for a few holes in Los Angeles, CA when the L.A. Open was still held at the Rancho Park Golf Course in West Los Angeles. The nines are reversed now, but there is also Bronze Plaque commemorating the 8 Arnold Palmer made on what was then 18th hole. If he hadn't hit 2 out of bounds into the adjoining street, he would've made a 4 and won the Tournament. This set is in fair condition for clubs of this era. They would also make a great starter set for a youngster without emptying your pocketbook, in case the golf doesn't catch on with the kid. Most of the wear on this set is on the Soles. The Club Faces are clean with few nicks or dings from bag rattle. The Shafts are Northwestern Pro-Action Plus Step in a Regular Flex. The Grips only say TOUR on them, and seem to be in good condition, but I think a scrubbing or two with saddle soap would liven them up quite a bit! Clubs will be protectively packaged and shipped USPS Ground Advantage!
